maniacal murdering barbers?! SQUEEE!

Being the devout Tim Burton fan that I am, I feel that it's my duty to check into theTim Burton Collective from time to time, just to see what's going on. So, I decided to look today. And you know what I found out? He's making a new movie!!!!! There aren't enough exclamation points in the world to truly convey my enthusiasm.

I know exactly what you're thinking. "Relax, Lisa. It's just a movie." But, I'm prepared with three reasons that this isn't just a movie:

1]First and foremost, because Tim Burton is directing it. I've been buying every movie he's directed since I was 12. I have a Frankenweenie poster on my wall at home, for God's sake. The man isn't just a genius. He's an artist. He's like God among movie directors. No, I'm not obsessed. *twitch* I'm just excited. *twitchtwitch*Okay, maybe I have a problem.

2] Johnny Depp singing. Simply having Johnny Depp in it would suffice. But Johnny Depp singing brings it to a whole new level of rad. Also, he's evil. I mean, he cuts people's throats to support cannibalism. Unless he starts stealing candy from babies, I'm doubting he can get much more evil. And I LOVE evil Johnny Depp. You don't get to see it much. There's misunderstood Johnny Depp, and creepy weird Johnny Depp, even borderline insane Johnny Depp. But not a lot of pure evil Johnny Depp.

3]Alan Rickman. I haven't seen a whole lot of him. The only movies I've seen him in are the Harry Potter movies. And his acting skill in them put most of his fellow cast to utter and humiliating shame. Daniel Radcliffe should be begging on his hands and knees for Allan Rickman to give him acting lessons. Anyway, tangent aside, I'm actually really excited to see what this guy can do with the help of some real actors.

I can't find a whole lot about the plot or anything. It's called Sweeney Todd, and apparently it's based off of a Sondheim musical, where a barber cuts rich people's throats and hands the victims off to some woman who turns them into meat pies. (I have to mention that, despite the eww factor, the plot makes me incredibly giggly. Or it could be the Tim Burton high I'm on right now.) I don't even have a rough estimate of when it'll be out. But I'll definitely have my eye out for it, and I'll be posting updates as I find stuff out.
