do you see what day it is?

It's Blogathon day. Yup. That's right. I pretty much missed the whole damn thing. Which sucks. What sucks worse is that it's all my fault. I went to Dairy Queen last night and got a chocolate extreme blizzard. For some reason nothing gets me all hyped up, except the chocolate extreme blizzard. I knew this. Yet I ate it anyway. Then I couldn't get to sleep until nearly four in the morning. I tried for a little while, then I gave up and read for a while. When I started feeling tired I laid down, and still didn't fall asleep, so I played some music. With headphones, stupid me. So, I never heard my alarm going off in the morning. I woke up at ten, music still blasting in my ears.

I was thinking about just finishing up the rest of the day, even if I'm not technically participating anymore, and it's no longer for charity. I was sort of counting on this to keep me writing. I've had this huge wrtiters block lately. I figured that if I had a bunch of really short deadlines, writing for fiteen minutes straight every thirty minutes, I figured it would get me out of the slump. So I'll be posting my story for the rest of the day. Or at least until I get tired, since this is just for me.

the story unfolds and stuff

I've finally decided what I'm doing for the blogathon. I've been working on this book for a really long time now, not getting very far. So I'm going to work on it on Saturday. I'll be writing small 15 minute parts and posting them every half hour. I'll not only have a theme so I' not rambling on about nothing, but I'll also be getting some work done on my book.

Here's the scenario so far: There are five worlds. Heaven, Hell, New Hawthorne, Isuniro, and Aiden. The world of Aiden is most like our world, except a few major differences. A lot of fantasy creatures that exist only in fairytales in our world are real in Aiden. Like vampires. Only in Aiden, they're called night walkers. There is a clan of these nightwalkers that made some kind of pact with the goddess of waking hours. They have to sacrifice someone of her choosing every full moon, and she will let them live in the light. So a couple days before every full moon, she somehow manages to bring someone from our world into Aiden to be sacrificed. Unfortunately through a huge accident, the wrong person goes through. Now she's trying to get back to her own world while the night walkers and the goddess are after her.

Basically, if you like fantasy, you'll love it. I hope. There's a lot more that has to be explained, since I suck at explaining stuff, so you should come check it out on Saturday if it sounds interesting.

blogging for the animals

A few people asked me why exactly I chose The Humane Society as my charity for the Blogathon, besides animals just being my thing. So, here is my reason.

This is Crimson. I consider him part of my family. He's like my baby. I adopted him from the Humane Society about two years ago. When I got him, it was early March, and it had been snowing pretty bad for a few days. The woman working there said that they found him outside sitting by the door a few days earlier. Somebody just dumped him off inside the fence and left. I chose the Humane Society so they can keep saving animals like Crimson that would otherwise probably die on their own, and finding them new homes.

i feel so accomplished right now

So, do you know what time it is? It's Blogathon time again! I'm especially excited about it this year because this is the second year that I'm using this blog. Yeah, I'm lame. But I have this Restless Lisa Syndrome thing, where I can't stay with one blog (one of anything for that matter) for more than a week. I have at least seven LiveJournal accounts that I know of. And I'm not exaggerating. There might even be more that I don't remember. Yet, here I am, still at this one. I stuck to it for a year. Okay, so lately I've been slacking, but I'm still here.

This is actually the third year I've participated in the Blogathon. The first two years I was blogging for the International Fund for Animal Welfare. This year I'm blogging for The Humane Society of the United States. What can I say, animals are my thing. This year I'm hoping to get more than $15 in pledges. Not a huge goal, but I got $15 last year, and I was hoping to get more pledges this year. That's where you, my one or two loyal readers, and you, the person who stumbled across this blog while searching for music downloads (which reminds me that I should really consider changing my tags), come in. *hinthintnudge* All you have to do is go to www.blogathon.org and make an account, then go to http://www.blogathon.org/pledge.php?blogid=168.

Any questions or stuff like that? Feel free to ask away. Suggestions for a theme, I'm all ears. This year I'm not taking the time to upload a million songs, so I don't have any idea what I'll be blogging about all day. So, if you have any suggestions, I would love you forever. I'm also thinking about doing a contest of some sort. But I'm still quite clueless about that, too. So just send me your suggestions or else I'll be forced to write about how I just finished the last of the Chips Ahoys and how much I miss my bed. And that's just boring.
